Hi Elke this article is great and it shows the work to be done in churches. But on another note shouldn't the great commission be followed extensively by now. Why has it not been the case in the syriac orthodox church as compared to other apostolic and protestant denominations?
Hi Pilgrim, in the churches here in the western US, we have a number of families who are reasonably recent immigrants (10-15 years). The energy in the first immigrant generation has to be spent on building a new existence. The language environment in the parishes doesn't facilitate inviting English speakers. I suspect that is much of the "why."
