Recently, we launched a youth group at our parish, St. Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church in Glendale, AZ. As part of our kick-off, I shared my personal story of being received into the Syriac Orthodox Church after decades as an evangelical Christian. As you probably know, a written version already exists here on this Substack.
Alas, I was trying out my new gimbal stick to record, and it shut off the recording after a few minutes (apparently an operator mishap… *sheepish look*). Since I want to share my story with others, I decided to re-record my story at home. I used the slides I had put together for that night. Without further ado, here is my story.
(If English is your second or third or fourth language, you can turn on subtitles in a language of your choice by clicking on the cc: icon
on the screen to turn on captions, then clicking on the cog icon
where you can set your subtitle language: click on Subtitles/CC, then select Autotranslate, then your language of choice.)
Finally, here are the slides I used.
I’d love your feedback. I’d love for you to share. I’d love to hear whether you are interested in other videos that expand on some of the topics. As always, thanks for reading.
